Disordered Eating
Yo yo dieting, irregular eating, calorie counting, emotional eating, binging, purging, self judgement based upon shape and weight, anxiety or rigidity around eating certain foods, excessive exercise and body image dissatisfaction are all signs of disordered eating which may be adversely affecting daily functioning.

Binge or Compulsive Eating
Are you caught up in a cycle of restricting your eating followed by binging on a large volume of food which you’ve gone out and bought specially and then eaten in secret? Binging can be a way of zoning out from difficult thoughts or uncomfortable feelings such as boredom and loneliness. There is comfort in the moment of binging but what follows can be feelings of shame, disgust and guilt.

Bulimia Nervosa
Are you stuck in a cycle of restricting food and then binging as a response to hunger followed by purging (either by vomiting or excessive exercise or abuse of laxatives or diuretics) to avoid weight gain? Do you struggle with body image dissatisfaction and feel low and not good enough?
Be open to the possibility that you can break the cycle. Help is at hand to support you in making changes which means you are taking the first step towards recovery.
Anorexia
Anorexia is a complex and serious mental health condition with physical risks. The drive to be thin results in the avoidance of foods, which are perceived to be fattening, often alongside vomiting and excessive exercise leading to potential dramatic weight loss. Low mood, fear and anxiety around mealtimes with ritualised and rigid eating, feeling fat and social withdrawals are some of the symptoms of anorexia.
Getting early help is important. I can work with you to support you in making changes which means you are taking the first steps towards recovery.
Body Image Issues
Do you have a distorted view of your body and find yourself criticizing and negatively labelling your body and its parts? Maybe you are stuck in a routine of body checking and mirror checking. Poor body image can lead to feelings of inadequacy, low self esteem and in some cases depression.
I can work with you to help improve how you view your body and for you to become more comfortable with your body and to find acceptance.
Obesity
Struggling with your weight ? Body dissatisfaction? Have you been on diets and each time the weight has gone back on and more? Maybe you are a binge eater or an emotional or comfort eater. There can be a number of possible maintaining factors which are keeping you stuck and which can be explored and worked through in therapy.
Be open to the possibility that you can make changes which will support improved wellbeing. I can work with you to support you in making those changes.
