Anorexia is a complex and serious mental health condition with physical risks. The drive to be thin results in the avoidance of foods, which are perceived to be fattening, often alongside vomiting and excessive exercise leading to potential dramatic weight loss. Low mood, fear and anxiety around mealtimes with ritualised and rigid eating, feeling fat and social withdrawals are some of the symptoms of anorexia.
