Working with Me

I am an experienced integrative therapist registered with the BACP and NCH and working privately with clients aged 16 years dealing with issues such as stress, anxiety, relationship issues, feeling “stuck” and transitions in life such as going off to university, mid life issues and ageing.

I am an Accredited Bereavement Counsellor and have worked with a national bereavement agency counselling the bereaved for over 15 years and I am a supervisor for other bereavement counsellors.

How I work with Eating Disorders

I am a network practitioner of the National Centre for Eating Disorders and have undergone their training to become a Master Practitioner in Eating Disorders.

I work collaboratively with each person and following an initial consultation we agree a treatment plan tailored to their unique needs. I take a holistic approach to treating eating disorders and I work with each person to not only get them to move towards being free of eating disorder behaviours and symptoms but to get them feeling good about themselves and living much more authentically and in line with their values. I offer brief therapy and also work longer term with clients where deeper work is needed.

As an integrative therapist I am trained in and draw upon a range of theoretical approaches which include CBT, mindfulness, positive psychology, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and NLP. A Cognitive hypnotherapy approach can also be offered alongside or in place of a counselling approach as required.

Our work together would address the emotional and cognitive aspects of the eating issue and may typically include work on family history, body image, self esteem, stress reduction, nutritional rehabilitation, lifestyle issues and interpersonal skills. As part of your recovery, your physical wellbeing may need to be monitored by your GP for your physical safety. I am supported in my work by an NHS registered specialist eating disorder dietician who offers private consultations to my clients by Skype. My client work is regularly supervised by the Clinical Director of an eating disorder clinic in Hampshire.

I offer face to face appointments from an office in Kenilworth, Warwickshire or if face to face is not possible, Skype work can be very effective. Skype work has been done with clients in France, Hong Kong, Dubai and Germany in addition to with numerous UK based clients all over the country.

Standard working hours are Monday- Friday from 09.00 with the last appointment at 7.00 pm from Monday- Thursday and at 4.00 pm on a Friday.

The cost of a 75 minute initial consultation is £60. Pricing of ongoing sessions will be discussed at the initial consultation and will be based on the work needed and the approach to be taken.

I offer a 15 minute initial telephone consultation without charge if you are undecided whether to book a full consultation.
